“The Empire Test Pilots’ School”

Lecture Synopsis

After 75 years of training Test Pilots and Flight Test Engineers, ETPS is undergoing a major transformation to ensure it stays at the forefront of Test and Evaluation training. Mr Nick Lay and Cdr Stu Irwin RN will explain the background to the programme, the strategy being followed and detail how new fleet aircraft were selected, the main capabilities they will offer and how they are being integrated into the new ETPS courses. They will explain how the new courses are being designed and produced and the exciting innovations and new technologies that are being applied. The structure and the main features of the new courses will be described before the main challenges, risks and issues are outlined.

Following on from our very successful dinner in March 2018, the committee have organised a dinner following the lecture on Thursday 7th March 2019.

The dinner will follow the lecture at 7.45 pm in the Hotel du Vin (opposite the Engineering Department). We have negotiated a price of £35.00 per head, including VAT and service, for three courses. You may also invite guests at £35 per head.
